[Tags](https://help.vintory.com/settings?hsLang=en#tags) # What are Tags ## Learn How to Utilize Tags for Sorting, Filtering, and Organizing Data Updated: May 8, 2026 *Note: Please note that the user interface show in this video is slightly outdated and may not represent the current state.* **Accessing the Tag Settings** - Navigate to **Settings** in the menu pane. - Click on the **Tags** section. ### **Viewing the List of Tags** - Within the *Tags* section, you can see a complete list of your current tags. - It also displays the creation date and last update date of each tag. ### **Creating New Tags** 1. Please see [Creating New Tags](https://help.vintory.com/creating-new-tags?hsLang=en) ### Deleting Tags 1. Locate the tag you wish to delete. 2. Click on the trash bin icon 3. A confirmation prompt will appear stating *"Tag will be removed from all contacts, triggers and campaigns. Deleted tags can be restored within 2 months. Are you sure you want to delete?"* 4. Click **Yes, Delete** to confirm. ### **Viewing Tags in Contacts** - Navigate to **Contacts** in the menu pane and then select a Contact card. - On the left side, scroll down to the bottom and locate the section titled *Actions*. - Here you can view this contact's Tags.  You can add or remove Tags here as well. ### **Filtering Contacts by Tags** 1. Navigate to **Contacts** in the menu pane. 2. Click on **More Filters** to find specific people based on their **Tags**. - "Is not empty" filter displays individuals with any listed tags. - "Is empty" filter shows only those without any tags. - To view individuals with a particular tag, select "Is" and enter the tag name. 3. Once you have defined the desired filters, click on **Apply**. 4. The record list will update, displaying only the contacts that match the specified Tag filter. ### **Saving and Creating Smart Lists** - If desired, click **Save as Smart List** to save the applied filter for future use.  Give the Smart List a **name** and click **Save**. -
