Testing Your Campaign Phone Numbers

It is extremely important to test that your campaign phone numbers are functioning correctly.

Setting up campaign phone numbers requires thorough testing to ensure they are functioning correctly. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of testing both incoming and outgoing phone numbers to verify their functionality.

Please note that it is crucial to avoid calling your forwarding number from your own phone, as it may create a loop. Use a different phone to make the test calls.


Testing Incoming Phone Numbers

  1. Obtain the phone number you want to test. This number should be listed for your campaign.
  2. Ensure the forwarding number is not your personal phone number to avoid complications. If you do not have a direct number to forward to for a variety of reasons consider our Inbound Appointment Setting Service
  3. Call the phone number you want to test using a different phone.
    • If the forwarding number is your own personal phone number, do not call it from your own phone.
  4. Verify two aspects:
    1. Check if the phone call reaches the correct forward number. Did you see the phone call come through?
    2. Determine if the phone call reaches the voicemail. Note: Do not answer the call; simply observe if it goes to voicemail.
  5. If the above steps were successful, the timeout for incoming calls is appropriately set.
    • If any issues occur and the call doesn't reach its destination, you may need to adjust the call timeout (add or subtract time). 

Testing Outgoing Phone Numbers

  1. Locate the phone icon at the top of the screen or interface.
  2. Enter the phone number you wish to call, which can be any number you choose.
    • It is recommended to test each number individually.
  3. Specify the caller ID or name associated with the call.
  4. Perform the same tests as before:
    1. Confirm that the phone call reaches the intended recipient.
    2. Verify if the call reaches the voicemail.  Remember, do not answer the call on the receiving end.
  5. If the call successfully reaches its destination, the outbound call timeout is correctly configured.  If any issues occur, you may need to adjust the timeout (add or subtract time).
