Number Pools

How to create them and set them into action on your landing page

Number pools are a great way to track the calls driven by paid campaigns. Using number pools, you can attribute call-tracking conversations based on specific phone numbers being shown to leads that land on designated landing pages and websites. These numbers(s) are only displayed on specific pages and are only shown to leads who take a specific course of action.

How to Create Number Pools

  1. Click on Settings 
  2. Click on Phone Numbers > select the Add Number Pool dropdown and choose "Add Number Pool"  
  3. Click on Visitors Activity (Marketing Campaign functions the same as a normal campaign phone number) > select Next: Tracking Options
  4. Choose who you would like to monitor visiting the landing page. Once you pick which visitors you want to track, select Next: Create Pool
    1. We recommend tracking All visitors
    2. If you select PPC search, the number on the website will only switch when the visitors are landing from a paid ad.
  5. Once you fill out all information:
    1. Number Name - ex: Owner Landing Page
    2. Pool Size - The count of tracking numbers in your pool determines how many visitors can call your website at the same time. The recommended size of your pool is a quarter of your peak hourly traffic in Google Analytics with a minimum of four.
    3. Forward Calls To - The phone number to be rung when your tracking number is dialed. 
    4. Swapping Number - The number that will be used on the website to automatically update and swap with one of the pool numbers. Recommend checking the box "Same As Forwarding Number" for ease.
    5. Check the box "I acknowledge I am purchasing and adding X new phone numbers".
    6. Select Next: Choose Numbers
  6. Create Tracking Numbers > choose the type of numbers you would like to use (local numbers to the forwarding number, toll free numbers or numbers in a specific area code) > select Next: Number Features.  
  7. Set up Whisper Message / Call recording
  8. Click on Activate Number

Adding Number Pools to Your Funnel

Once you set up the number pool, you can click on the information icon to integrate the snippet on your website. This will require a little back and forth from phone number settings to funnels. 

  1. Open Number Pools tab at the top
  2. Select the three vertical dots to the right of the number pool created > open Number Pool Info
  3. Copy the Swapping Number, this needs to be copy and pasted exactly on any landing page wherever you want to utilize the Number Pool.
  4. Copy the Normal Snippet, this needs to be copy and pasted exactly to your funnel.
  5. Select Go Back to be able to then open Sites
  6. Under Funnels find and open your Owner Acquisition Landing Page
  7. Open the Settings tab listed at the top
  8. Find the Body tracking code section > paste the Normal Snippet code copied from the Number Pool
  9. Select Save once completed. This will auto update the Swapped Number with a Number Pool for all funnel steps.

Adding Number Pools to a Single Page

  1. If you want the number to swap on one single funnel/website page, click on Edit Page 
  2. Click on Settings > Tracking Code on the top left
  3. Paste the copied Normal snippet in the Footer code and click Yes, Save
  4. Add the Swapping Number to the single page you want using the Number Pool.
