Manual Actions

How to Access and Manage Manual Actions

Updated: February 10, 2025

Completing Manual Actions

  1. Navigate to the Conversations in the menu pane.
  2. Click on Manual Actions on the top menu pane
  3. The manual actions list will display various details for each action, including the contact, workflow, date, assignee, and type of action required.
  4. At the top, you can filter by Workflow or Assignee.
  5. At the top of the manual actions list, you will see a button that says, Let's start.
    • If the button is grayed out, it means there are no actions available to start.
    • Once you click the button, this will initiate the process of making phone calls, starting from the top of the list and working down.  It will begin calling the first person on the list.  We refer to this as "rapid fire calling."

Understanding Manual Actions

  • Manual actions are automatic reminders within your workflows.
  • They serve as prompts to perform specific tasks, such as making a phone call or sending a text message.
  • It's important to note that manual actions themselves do not initiate phone calls or send text messages automatically.
  • If a contact is at a manual action step within a Workflow, they will remain at that step inside the Workflow until the manual action is complete.

Automate and streamline the process of making outbound phone calls. Power dialers work by automatically dialing phone numbers from a predetermined list

Step One: Creating the Workflow

Once a contact has been put into this list of actions, the system will automatically start calling starting from the top of the list working its way down. Once one call ends it will move onto the next. The easiest way to bulk enroll a specific list of contacts is through a workflow.

  1. Open Automations and select  "Create Workflow"
  2. Choose "Start from scratch"
  3. Click on "Add New Trigger" and search for Contact Tag.
  4. Filter "Tag Added" and from the dropdown you can choose an existing one or create a new one. In this example I created a tag "power dialer" then select Save Trigger.
  5. Click on the Plus sign to add an action, search for Manual Action To Call then select Save Action.

Make sure to publish and save at the top!

Step Two: Create the Smart List of contacts to be added to the workflow

Using your filters, define WHO you want to be added to the power dialer list to be called. It is recommended to add filters for "Phone", "DND", and "Pipeline" as a base.

Step Three: Tag Contacts

Once the list is created you can select all contacts from the list then find the "Add Tag" option from the menu bar above.

In the "Tags" section use the same tag from Step One.

In "Actions" this is just a brief description of the action being completed. In my example I used "bulk add power dialer tag". Then select "Add"

You can track under "Bulk Actions" once it is complete and the selected contacts are updated with the tag.

Filtering Manual Actions

  • You can customize the view of the manual actions list by applying filters.
  • Choose to see only actions assigned to you or view actions assigned to everyone.
  • Additionally, you can specify manual actions created from a specific workflow.
