Gather the Necessary Requirements

  1. Confirm that your Vintory landing page is ready to go live.
  2. Be sure you have access to your DNS settings or the hosting provider for your root domain (e.g. Google Domains, GoDaddy)

Choose your subdomain

  1. Determine the subdomain that will replace the "www" in your URL.
  2. This subdomain will redirect visitors to a separate location while still being attached to your main domain.
  3. Common subdomains include "join," "owners," or "list".

Add the subdomain in your domain settings

  1. In the Vintory platform, navigate to Settings in the menu pane and then click on Domains.

  2. Click + Add New Domain.

  3. Enter your chosen subdomain along with your root domain (e.g. join.rootdomain.com or list.rootdomain.com) in the field.

  4. Underneath the field in the Note, it will provide instructions for your CNAME.
  5. Copy the CNAME value provided by the platform displayed in red

Create the CNAME record

  1. Locate the DNS settings of your domain or hosting provider.
  2. Select the Manage Custom Records inside your DNS settings (or of similar wording).
  3. Select the option to create a new record.
  4. Specify that it is a CNAME record.
  5. Enter the CNAME value you copied earlier
  6. Define the subdomain you want the record to point to (e.g. join, list, etc.)
  7. Save the new CNAME record.
  • If prompted to replace an existing record, choose whether to replace or keep the existing record.
  • Note that it may take 24 to 48 hours for the changes to propagate and your landing page to go live.

      Verify the Domain Addition

      1. Return to the Domain screen inside Vintory.
      2. Click Add to check if the subdomain was successfully added. (If you receive an error message, please note that it may take up to 24 to 48 hours for the changes to propagate and your landing page to go live).
      3. Once it adds successfully, select the desired funnel you want the subdomain to redirect to.
      4. From the dropdown, select the default funnel step for the domain, such as the main home page.
      5. Click Link Domain to finalize.

Confirm the landing page is live

      1. Access the URL with the subdomain you created (e.g., join.rootdomain.com) in your internet browser.

      2. Ensure that the landing page loads correctly and is accessible.

      3. Use this subdomain in your marketing materials, cold outreach, email signature, etc.

These instructions are based on making a landing page live in Google Domains, but similar steps can be applied to other domain hosting providers like GoDaddy or Network Solutions.
