Bulk Update Contact Fields

How to update specific fields for multiple contacts.

Setting up an Automation

  1. Navigate to Automation in the menu pane.
  2. Click on + Create Workflow to start setting up the automation.
  3. Locate the Start from scratch option and click Continue.
  4. To add actions, click on Add your first action.
  5. Select Update contact field as the action.
  6. In the Action Type dropdown, be sure to select Update field data.
  7. Click on + Add Field.
  8. In the field selection, choose the fields you want to update.
    1. For example, "Bedrooms" can be updated to "5."
    1. You can add multiple fields.
  9. Click on Save Action.
  10. At the top of your workflow above the menu pane, click to rename it to keep yourself organized.
  11. Once completed, toggle on Publish in the upper right hand corner and then click on Save to finalize the workflow.

Selecting Contacts to Update

  1. Navigate to Contacts in the menu pane.
  2. If you have a large group of contacts to update, creating a Smart List for them to enroll in the new workflow is the next step. 

Once the above steps have been completed, please contact support for further assistance.

  1. Provide support with the name of the Workflow
  2. Provide support with the name of the Smart list
  3. Ensure that the Smart list is shared Globally under Contacts > Manage Smart lists

Checking Workflow Status and History

  1. To check the status of the workflow, navigate to Automation in the menu pane.
  2. Locate the workflow you created.
  3. Verify that the total number of enrolled contacts matches the number you selected.
  4. Ensure that no active contacts remain in the workflow.
